Crafting the Perfect Sip
Like most of us, my life has been a journey. We all start out with hopes, dreams, and youthful enthusiasm. Then reality kicks in, and things change. If we’re lucky, and smart, we learn, we adapt. And with a bit more luck, we find our calling, or at least something we truly enjoy, and pursue it.
I consider myself very lucky. Even though I didn’t find my dream career until later in life, it’s been a good ride—no complaints. Sure, there have been a few bumps and bruises along the way, but nothing out of the ordinary. Just part of living.
So here I am. Over the past few years, I’ve immersed myself in the world of whiskey and bourbon. I’ve had the good fortune to visit more than 30 distilleries, become a Chartered Master Taster with Whiskey University, Certified Bourbon Steward with the Stave and Thief Society, attend industry trade shows, and meet incredible people. Truth be told, I’ve never had a bad tour—and I’ve learned a lot.
I’ve seen rick houses filled with 20 to 30 thousand aging barrels. I’ve listened and learned from Master Distillers, Master Tasters, and Master Blenders explain how they craft their spirits—how the “juice” is created, selected, and blended into something truly remarkable. I felt like a real-life Indiana Jones, but instead of lost relics, I was discovering hidden treasures: barrels of bourbon and whiskey aged to perfection.
Across several trips, we tasted more than a hundred different mash bills and age profiles. We found some true gems. All that was left was to bring them back to Trippy Goat Distillery in Maryland for blending and bottling. It was exhilarating.
In addition to the blending facility at the distillery, I’ve set up a small blending lab in my own kitchen. I’ve got a few cases of barrel-strength whiskey from Trippy Goat, and I’m experimenting—blending, tasting, refining. My goal? To create the perfect sipping whiskey.
Of course, I know my idea of the perfect sip may be different from yours. But I have the opportunity to create something I’m proud of, something I hope fellow whiskey enthusiasts will enjoy enough to add to their collections.

Born from my journey across the country, meeting whiskey lovers and experts alike, I knew I had to create something truly special. Every barrel is hand-selected, every note thoughtfully blended, resulting in a bourbon that’s aged and mellow—just like me.
